Individual Giving at Sphinx
At Sphinx, we deeply value and uniquely craft our relationships with donors. We believe in building meaningful connections through exclusive experiences and personalized engagements rather than predefined giving levels.
Below, you'll find details regarding our programming as well as the benefits available to our generous donors. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Olivia Custodio, Director of Major Gifts, at olivia@sphinxmusic.org or by calling 734-787-5917.
Your Impact Through Giving
When you support Sphinx, you play a crucial role in empowering artists and transforming lives through the power of the arts. Your donations help sustain and expand our key programs, including:

Sphinx Virtuosi: Our acclaimed chamber orchestra, consisting of the top accomplished Black and Latino artists, who embark on national tours each year.
SphinxConnect: The epicenter for artists and leaders committed to addressing systemic obstacles in Black and Latino communities, offering networking, learning, and performance opportunities.
Sphinx Performance Academy: An intensive summer program providing focused instruction and mentorship to young musicians ages 11-17.
Sphinx Overture: Free music education in elementary schools in Detroit and Flint, Michigan, offering beginning violin group classes and lessons, including instruments and materials. Enrollment is free with no instrument purchase or rental required.
Sphinx Orchestral Partners Auditions (SOPA): An excerpt competition providing aspiring orchestral musicians the unique opportunity to audition for orchestras seeking to identify musicians for auditions, pre-advancement, and substitute player lists.
National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS): An initiative that transforms lives through a customized combination of mentoring, audition preparation, financial support, and audition previews.
Sphinx LEAD (Leaders in Excellence, Arts & Diversity): A 2-year program designed to evolve the industry landscape by empowering the next generation of exceptional executive leaders.
