The National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS) is building a national database of professional Black and Latino musicians. This effort was launched in recognition of lack of representation in our field and specifically, orchestral stages. Our aim is two-fold: 1) create a centralized directory of musicians and 2) connect musicians of color with orchestras and other artistic institutions for engagement opportunities. We ask that you help us with this effort by sharing the message with colleagues and friends.
Join the Database
This database is intended for orchestral musicians who meet the following preferred criteria:
At least 18 years of age
Able to legally work in the U.S.
Have at least one year of professional or semi-professional orchestral performance experience
We are hoping to include your name, instrument, preferred contact and if possible, your resume. If you are amidst pursuing professional employment, please indicate that in your response. That aspect will help us and partner organization when reaching out relative to opportunities.
Hire a Musician
The National Alliance for Audition Support maintains a national network of sought-after orchestral musicians, many of whom have experience working with orchestras of the highest level. NAAS musicians can be engaged to perform with groups in The League of American Orchestras through the connectivity of the NAAS Musician Database. Substitute musician grants to aid the cost of travel are available to individuals if needed. Join us today by engaging the artistry of some of the most vibrant musicians in the nation. If you are an orchestra representative or a contractor and would like to connect with one of the musicians below, please follow the link to their resume below, or contact NAAS Program Manager Bill Neri: Bill@SphinxMusic.org
